AD| When you are able to find a lifestyle that you love, it’s natural that you would want to share it with other people. It’s very easy though, to come across more as a coach, rather than a cheerleader. If you aren’t careful then this can turn off your friends and it can discourage them from working out as well. This is the last thing that you need, but there are things that you can do to try and get them on the same page.

Create an Open Invitation
The first thing that you need to try and do is create an open invitation when it comes to exercise. Spend some time thinking about why they don’t like to workout and try to address these excuses. It may be that they don’t like to exercise in the morning or that they are somewhat intimidated by the group exercises that you do. Either way, you need to think about offering them the chance to attend a session that is a way better match for them. If you can do this, then you will soon find that they become motivated, and this will work in your favour. If your friends love sport, then this could be the best way for you to get them motivated. It may be that you start listening to some rugby union experts and that you also take an interest so that you can use this to empower them and spark passion.
Live by Example
Motivating someone to adopt a healthier lifestyle requires a very careful balance. If you are far too preachy or if you are too enthusiastic then you may be unapproachable. You may even come across as being condescending. Often, motivating people doesn’t require any actual motivation at all. When you make good choices, commit to the workouts you are doing and show your attitude, you will soon see that this positively influences those around you, and this can make a huge difference to them.
Be Honest
Seeing results can have a huge influence on your attitude in general. When you reach your fitness goals, things will feel great and you will feel better, faster and stronger. That being said, it is very easy for you to forget about your hardships. Be honest and tell them how hard it was for you to get to this point. Talk about the ups and downs, and also try and make the effort to tell them exactly how you accomplished your goals.
Stay Committed
The absolute worst thing that you can do is get a friend fired up about eating healthily, and then drop them. Don’t be that person who forgets to show up to a workout that has been planned, or who cancels at the last minute. You have to be committed if you want your friends to get the best result out of their own workouts, so keep this in mind if you can. It will help you to keep everyone moving at the same pace and it will keep them motivated too.
