How to Avoid Common Injuries When you Train

How to Avoid Common Injuries When you Train

Ad. The good news is that the more consistent you are with your training or sporting activity, the less likely you are to experience an injury; still, you can’t become complacent, as even professional sports people can pull muscles. Avoid common injuries and improve your performance by warming up and cooling down properly and wearing the correct footwear and shoulder tape.

Warming Up

Whether you play an active sport like football, rugby, or basketball or spend your time working out in the gym, you need to remember to warm up properly. Warming up prepares your body for physical activity and reduces the chances of injuries such as twisted ankles and pulled muscles.

If you turn up to your sport or workout and start playing right away, your muscles are cold and rigid, and there is a disconnect between the nervous system and the muscles. Even five minutes of warming up can prevent serious injuries and improve your performance in the game.

Right Footwear

Unless you’re swimming, you will need some footwear for your chosen activity. Wearing the right footwear is incredibly important since it improves your performance and prevents serious injuries like breaks and sprains. Footwear is even more important for running and football.

If you’re running, find a pair of running shoes that work for you. Running shoes need to have a soft sole to absorb the impacts of the road; they also need to have ankle support to prevent rolling. For football, you need some boots that are suitable for the ground you are playing on.

Shoulder Tape

If you want to prevent aches and strains in your upper body, it’s a good idea to wear some shoulder tape. The shoulder area has a collection of small muscles called the Rotator Cuff. This group of muscles and tendons helps to stabilize the shoulder, but they can be injured easily.

If you experience pain or discomfort from a rotator cuff injury, shoulder tape can help. Shoulder tapes help to reduce pain and swelling and support the muscles in the healing process. Learn how to apply kt tape to shoulder labrum, and support your rotator cuff to heal from injuries.

Cool Downs

Some people think cool dows are less important than warm-ups after all your exercise is complete, and the cool-down is inevitable. However, a proper cool-down routine can return your body systems to their normal levels and increase flexibility and endurance for the future.

If you are a runner or you work out in the gym, you need to stretch after your workout to create more flexibility in your muscles, tendons, and joints. If you play football, you could spend five minutes at the end of the game jogging and stretching or powerwalk home from the parks.

Recovery

At the end of your workout or game, you need to give your body plenty of time to recover and build strength; again, this will reduce common injuries and improve your performance over time. To accelerate your recovery, use CBD oil and protein shakes to repair the torn muscle fibers.
