Why You Should Join The Toning Craze

The Toning craze is definitely one that we know is going around at the minute. There are so many strong, influential women who are well into their toning journey, and they truly are an inspiration for all. It may be due to platforms such as social media that this craze has started, and we’re so thankful for that. It’s so good that a strong woman’s body is the image that people are going for at the minute. Because the more we work on our bodies and our muscles and strength, the stronger we become mentally. Some people might slander Instagram influencers, but the motivation at the guidance that they’re giving girls and women who feel like they’re in the dark, is incredible. So, if you know you’re looking for a new direction with your fitness journey, or perhaps you’re looking to start a fitness journey, then here are my top reasons why you should join the toning craze, and how you can do it!

Why You Should Join The Toning Craze

Why You Should Consider It

There are so many reasons why you should consider starting a fitness journey that involves toning your body. There are so many pros to it that I want to talk about, so much so that I could be here all day talking about it. So I’m only going to list to you the things that I think will encourage you the most. The first thing that I want to talk about, is that so many people find it attractive now to see stronger women. Men are now appreciating the effort that women are putting into their bodies to change it, so due to this, women are now feeling more confident than ever. And that’s what I’m loving about it the most. Whether you’re struggling with your image because you feel like you’re not putting on enough weight, or whether it’s because you feel like you’re carrying too much, toning your body can really change your life. Another reason that I have, and probably one that you’re going to learn tons about as your fitness journey carries on, is that it’s going to benefit your body massively. Your muscle and joints are complex parts of the body, that require more maintenance to stay in perfect condition, that people are ever likely to give them. The average Joe might do a bit of walking to keep fit, but your muscles and joints need some serious work to keep them in shape. When you’re toning your body, you’re going to be doing it through a mix of weight lifting and some light cardio, if you do it right, and that’s exactly what it is that your body needs. The light cardio helps to keep your cardiovascular and respiratory system in shape, whilst the weight lifting side of things builds up muscle strength, can increase bone density, and build strength in between the joints. It can, of course, go the complete opposite way if you don’t do the lifting right. Some people lift in the worst way, and their muscles and joints really do pay the price. The last thing you want to do is have an injury to a joint because it could affect you for the rest of your life.

The Beginning Of The Journey

So, if this is something that’s completely new to you, you’re going to have to think about what your goals are. When toning your body, you can take it to the extreme of bodybuilding, which is absolutely great if that’s what you want. Because ultimately in the beginning, you will be toning and conditioning your muscles, before you then go onto building the sheer muscle. So if your goal is just tone, the first step of your journey is to make yourself familiar with the weights and what your body can do. You actually will really benefit from getting a personal trainer. They’ll be able to talk you through all of the different machines at the gym and ease you into a routine that you can then carry on on your own! Then, you can really start getting into the swing of things, and hopefully you should start to become a little more confident. You’ll start to find what your body responds best to, and you’ll start to really understand your training regime. You should split your days, focusing on different body parts on different days. One thing I would recommend is focusing on your back and arms. When women go into toning, the main focus is usually the abs, glutes and legs. Perhaps due to social media in some ways, women think these are the ideal areas to work out. But in fact, if you’re going to start your toning journey, you really should think about working your upper body as well. Toning your arms and back will give you such a body goals finish, and it’ll help you to feel so much better about yourself as well!

Getting A Little More Serious

So once you’ve got yourself settled into a routine that you’re enjoying, you’re going to have to get serious about the supplement and diet side of things. Miss this out, and your toning maximum potential will never actually be reached. So first of all, you need to understand the importance of protein. Protein is essential for muscle growth and repair, and with the weightlifting you’ll be doing you’ll really benefit from this. You can get all sorts of brands, and all sorts of varieties. From vegan protein, to protein mixed with other essential supplements, you can have it all. Try out different ones to see which one you like, and see if you can get tester versions to begin with. Protein powder can be expensive, so buying one outright that you don’t like, could leave you angry! You also need to try and eat a balanced diet, with calories that suit your BMI. Eating too many calories will put you into the bodybuilding category, too little and you won’t get the tone you’re after. Eat plenty of protein, carbs, and minimal fats, and it won’t be long until you notice a difference.

So, I hope that after reading this, you feel like toning up is what you want to do. Not only will your physical health improve, but as you begin to love your body through the changes you’re making, your mental health will also improve. The journey might be long, but it will be more than worth it in the end!
