I’ve been adding extra things to my smoothies lately. Since going vegetarian, I’ve used it as a great way to sneak some extra protein into my day.
I got this Whole Earth peanut butter in the February Degustabox. And while I’m not really a fan of peanut butter, I do love it mixed in with smoothies.
This variety is the Mixed Seeds one and contains flaxseeds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds.
The ingredients list is simple, which is always a sign of a good product, in my eyes:
Ingredients:
Peanuts (80%), Sunflower Seeds (7%), Pumpkin Seeds (5%), Flax Seeds (5%), Palm Oil, Sea Salt
It has 5.4g of fibre and 23.8g of protein per 100g.
I like to put a table spoon or two in a smoothie. It tastes delicious, too.
I never follow a specific recipe, I just chuck in what fruit I have. My most used fruits in smoothies though are:
Bananas, strawberries, grapes, mangos, pineapples, blueberries and raspberries.
I also like to add some chia seeds for even more protein and fibre. Chia seeds expand in your stomach, too, which makes you feel fuller for longer.
Check out this bad boy I made 🙂
I sprinkled some extra chia seeds on top, too.
What do you put in your smoothies?
Looks delicious.
How did I not know about the fact you had a fitness blog until today!! I’m not a huge peanut butter fan but the one place I will add it is in my smoothies! I like how it can tone down the sweetness just a little without changing the taste much!
