I was sent this book back in December as part of a productivity challenge. It’s a recipe book full of meat, dairy and wheat free foods, so perfect for the clueless vegetarian like myself.
The book is beautiful visually. It’s high quality and contains many vibrant, stunning images of the food you’ll be learning to make.
You start the book by learning about Saskia’s story about how when she was ballet dancer and not eating enough food and how it made her feel. She then goes on to tell you the benefits of eating natural foods and staying away from animal products and wheat.
She acknowledges how it can be hard to eat healthy because of the time it takes to prepare meals, but her aim with the book is to provide a variety of recipes that are quick and easy to prepare on a daily basis.
After she gives you information about superfoods, food groups and how to get started, the recipes begin and are split up into the following sections:
- Breakfast
- Drinks
- Soups and Salads
- Mains
- Snacks
- Desserts
After the recipes, there’s more tips and information. There’s some 3-day meal plans aimed at various types of needs, such as gym bunnies, people who are busy without much time to prepare food and for detoxing. There’s some information about what foods can help certain health problems, like digestion or bad skin followed by some exercise tips.
Overall, this is a lovely book to get your started on a healthier lifestyle. Even if you’re not vegan or vegetarian, it’s always good to have some meals free from animal products because these recipes are great food you and jam packed with vitamins and nutrients.

It must be an interesting book, I would love to browse through her recipes. x
Overnight oats! I see everyone raving about them, maybe I’ll have to give them a try. I’m getting back into cooking and having something with some slightly healthier options in would be right at home on my shelf!
