Fitness Update // Deadlift PB

Monday: Chest day
Tuesday: Calisthenics
Wednesday: Core day
Thursday: PT leg day
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Leg endurance day
Sunday: Back and shoulders.

On Monday I trained chest and something magical happened! I got 2 sets of 5 at 40kg in which is a PB!

Tuesday I trained calisthenics. I think I’m going to change my routine up a little bit next week and do things a bit different. I’m going to write a separate post about it actually!

Wednesday was core, I also did a WOD that my PT set me. 16 minutes to do a 16 cal row, 16 over box rope slams and 16 power clean thrusters with the 10kg core bag. It was mega doom.

Hey I payed Β£2.99 so I could put a song on this video but then wasn’t allowed to post it due to copyright. That is basically the summary of my life πŸ™ƒ I’ve been given the task for doing a WOD this week. 16 cal row 16 battle rope over box slams 16 core bag bag power clean thrusters How many rounds in 16 minute? I managed 3 full rounds and the first two exercises of the 4th round. I expected to get way more rounds than that but this was really hard. Thursday was my PT session and I was so frustrated with it because I wanted to do really well on squats. I hate squats. They are my enemy. I didn’t hit the box and spent the new few days beating myself up about it.

Leg day today! A bit annoyed at myself for not hitting the box on some of these but it’s given me something to go away and work on. Hopefully soon I can share videos of me doing the same weight but hitting the box EACH time. I have such a mental barrier when it comes to squats and do a few okay, but then just seem to lose it and my confidence goes AWOL. Saturday I went to the gym with my Instagram friend again. I tried what I failed on Saturday and success! I did my WOD before and somehow still managed the squats!

My biggest motivation is my own failures. I was really frustrated myself for not hitting that box on Thursdays session that I spent the next few days mentally preparing myself to do it again and TAP THE BLOODY BOX and I did it. Same weight, same height, more tap πŸ’ƒ πŸŽ₯ 1: 8 reps at 40kg πŸŽ₯ 2: 5 reps at 45kg πŸŽ₯ 3: 3 reps at 50kg (only 2 taps though) Just did my WOD before this too so was bloody knackered. Sunday I hit a PB on my deadlift!

Peeeebeeeee! 73kg deadlift which now means I can lift more than my body weight. Wasn’t sure if I was going to go for it or not but felt strong so gave it a go. πŸŽ₯1: 4 reps at 68kg πŸŽ₯2: 2 reps at 73kg πŸŽ₯3: 8 reps at 58kg with 12 60kg rack pulls. Ignore the first rep on the rack pulls, my hands were both overheard rather than one under and one over so I had to reset. Wish the rack was lower but Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―) Also sorry to the ladies training legs that are in the video!
